We're Hiring!

Join the NIDOS team!

As part of our new strategic plan for 2017-2020, NIDOS is hiring for the following posts. Full details of each vacancy are available on our Vacancies page.

Effectiveness and Learning Advisor (full time)

The Effectiveness & Learning Advisor will support members of Scotland’s International Development Alliance, particularly but not exclusively small organisations, to strengthen their effectiveness, transparency and impact. The Effectiveness & Learning Advisor will be responsible for designing, planning, promoting and ensuring the successful delivery and use of high-quality training and e-learning tools and resources, with the overall purpose of increasing the development effectiveness and impact of Alliance members. The postholder will lead on the creation of web-based learning resources in the context of the Alliance’s newly improved website with enhanced functionality. As the organisation becomes a broader alliance of actors in the field of international development, we will retain and further build our niche expertise in delivering an effectiveness programme in response to members’ needs, and the Effectiveness & Learning Advisor will play a lead role in this key work area.

Policy and Advocacy Officer (0.6 FTE)

The Policy and Advocacy Officer is responsible for enabling and facilitating our members’ collaborative work on international development policy. This includes supporting the organisation and its members to develop a policy and advocacy strategy, and to implement it, within the strategic aims of the new 2017/2020 Business Plan. This is an exciting time for the organisation which is changing its name to Scotland’s International Development Alliance, to reflect its new strategy to build a broader alliance of actors in the field of international development. The Policy and Advocacy Officer will be required to work in consultation with the new and existing membership, enabling collaborative responses from members to relevant consultations and inquiries, as well as collectively working to build public support for international development in Scotland.
