KWISA ‘Zero Tolerance Conference’ sell-out success
On 4 February, Kenyan Women in Scotland Association (KWISA) hosted a Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) Conference to mark the International Day of Zero Tolerance to FGM. The aim of the event was to raise awareness of FGM, gather support from concerned political and faith leaders and to share examples of good practice from Scotland and Kenya.
The event drew a full house to hear Angela Constance MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Communities, Social Security and Equalities, as well as leaders of campaign to stop FGM, local faith leaders and child protection officers.
