NIDOS Response to Committee Inquiry Submitted
Following consultation with members, NIDOS's response to the Scottish Parliament's E&ERC's International Engagement Inquiry has now been submitted.
Thank you to all our members who contributed to the evidence submitted to the Scottish Parliament's European & External Relations Committee's inquiry into international engagement.
The network's response makes it clear that we feel there has been much progress made with the Scottish Government’s international development policy and programme since the last Inquiry and the impact of this programme has been much stronger and more coherent. We have made some suggestions for further strengthening it and increasing the coherence between it and the wider International policy.
We hope that the existing cross-party support for Scotland’s International Development policy and programme will continue, despite the current difficult financial situation, as this fund and the associated relationship building between Scotland and other countries contributes to meeting the increasing needs among some of the most vulnerable communities in the world.
The committee will be collating and publishing responses to its inquiry in September - you can download the NIDOS response at the link below.
