Capstone Projects

Description

We are working in partnership with Lugazi Pentecostal Church Ministries, a local NGO in Uganda, to set up projects which have a social concern at their heart.

1. Child Development Centre – A project that started with children living on the streets. We now provide for all the needs of 45 children and to date we have managed to relocate a further 18 back into their extended families.

2. Medical Centre and Dispensary – This project was started in 2005 and has now grown from providing medicines and basic treatment into a centre which offers a maternity unit, dental services and treatment for many different medical problems. It works on the basis that those who can pay do and treatment is free for those who cannot afford to pay.

3. Skills Training Centre – This project is our most recent and involved constructing a large building to compliment the smaller premises we had. Initially it was designed to offer 45 people the opportunity to learn one of the following skills: tailoring, welding and fabrication, carpentry, electrical work, motor vehicle maintenance

4. The next project will be to build and equip a school which will be designed to deliver education along the lines of the British system today. These four projects are seen to complement each other and provide care and support in the community. We see our role as supporting and fund raising while giving the local people ownership and management of these projects.
